Day 1: Arrive In Uganda And Transfer To Your Lodge

On arrival in Uganda at Entebbe airport, you’ll meet our safari guide who will happily welcome you into the Pearl of Africa.

Day 2: Visit Jinja To Explore The Source 0f The Legendary Nile River

After your breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Jinja, 80km from Kampala- Uganda’s capital and this takes about 2 hours drive.

The impressive drive will take you through the amazing landscapes of the city outskirts before sugarcane plantations at Lugazi and Mabira Forest. Eventually, you’ll arrive in Jinja- Africa’s Capital for white water rafting!

The legendary Nile River moves out of Lake Victoria in Jinja and starts its 6650km journey to the Mediterranean Sea in Egypt. On its course, it encounters several impervious rocks leading to the formation of cascades and rapids.

For adventure lovers, undertaking a raft to encounter these world-class rapids is a great experience a must not miss!

You’ll always raft in the company of skillful guides who are ready to rescue you in case the rapids get you off the raft.

During the rafting, you’ll enjoy cheers from a crowd of locals at the river banks as you struggle with white waters! This experience will make you feel loved and part of the community.

Usually, this adventure takes half a day, and after, you’ll relax a bit and in the afternoon have a boat cruise to the source of the Nile. This pleasing cruise will enable you to spot several birds such as the beautiful King Fishers.

Day 3: Travel To Murchison Falls National Park- Have An Enroute Stop At Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary For Rhino Tracking On Foot

After your breakfast, you’ll embark on a 311km (5-hour drive) to Murchison Falls National Park.

On driving for about 115km from Kampala, you’ll branch off at Nakitoma for 7km to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, for Rhino tracking on foot.

Please note that Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the only place to spot Rhinos in Uganda.

It holds over 32 Rhinos and tracking them on foot in their natural environment is a remarkable experience worth undertaking on your holiday in Uganda.

On the trek, you’ll encounter beautiful flora, scenic landscapes, beautiful birds, and even some other Uganda animals such as Bushbucks and Uganda kobs.

Day 4: Have A Morning Game Drive And Boat Cruise In Murchison Falls NP

After an early breakfast at your lodge at around 7 am, our expert guide will transfer you to a morning game drive in the Buligi game area. Buligi is the best place to spot animals in Murchison Falls park.

The morning game drive offers you a chance to start your day with early grazers, coming out of their hidings to feed. Also, if lucky, you can spot predators like lions hunting.

Expect to spot animals such as:

• Large herds of Giraffes
• Lions
• Leopards
• Buffaloes
• Elephants
• Several antelope species such as Hartebeests, Uganda kobs, Bushbucks, and Oribis.

Day 5: Visit The Top Of Murchison Falls And Travel To Hoima. Enjoy Enroute Stop At Kibiro Salt Gardens

After your breakfast, with your expert driver guide, you’ll drive to the top of the falls for great views of Murchison Falls from another perspective.

You’ll have breathtaking views of the 50m wide Nile River fighting to go through an 8m narrow gorge.

While here, you’ll experience the great roaring sound of the Nile as its drops 45m on a cliff leading to the formation of a Devil’s cauldron.  This dramatic and amazing scenery is ideal for photo shoots!

After, you’ll retreat from this activity and drive to Hoima having an en-route stop at Kiboro Salt Gardens– a great historical site. This site is famously known for the extraction of local salt using indigenous knowledge.

It has supported the lives of the surrounding communities for about 900 years ago! Amazingly, locals exchange this salt for food.

This site can only be accessed on foot! The walks on the steep and challenging landscape are however memorable.

Day 6: Travel To Fort Portal And Have Lunch In Fort Portal Town. Either Do Cycling In Mpanga Tea Estates Or Visit Amabere Ga’ Nnyinamwiru Caves

After breakfast, you’ll drive for about 5 hours to Fort Portal town. You’ll enjoy a scenic drive through the beautiful countryside of Kagadi Kagadi and Kyenjojo.

Along the drive, you’ll have great views of the lush green vegetation, rural homesteads as well as farmlands.

Reaching Fort Portal town- Uganda’s cleanest city, you’ll settle for lunch and after, embark on cycling tours in Mpanga Tea Estates.

This spectacular green tea estate offers wonderful endless rolling views ideal to encounter while on a mountain bike! On this cycling adventure, you’ll meet the estate staff plucking tea. For a memorable experience, you can participate in tea plucking if you feel like it!

You can choose to explore the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru cave area and a hike to Fort Portal Crater Lake field. Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru cave is a rich cultural site in the history of the Tooro Kingdom!

This unique site holds breast-like features that drip a white substance locally believed to be the breasts of Nnyina Mwiru- daughter of King Bukuku.

Bukuku was a great king of the Batembuzi Dynasty (demi-gods) during the 14th century

A legend has it that Nyina Mwiru’s breasts were cut off and thrown in this cave due to her refusal to marry a man his father had chosen for her. And therefore, locals believe that the area still drips her milk up to date!

After this great cultural counter, you’ll retreat and embark on a hike to the Fort Portal Crater Lake field area.  You’ll hike the fairy-challenging slopes of Kyeganywa hill which is surrounded by a range of spectacular lakes such as:

• Lake Kigere: Kigere is a local dialect that translates as a foot and this is due to its physical appearance.

On a clear day, a hike to the top of this hill offers you great views of the snow-capped peaks of Mountain Rwenzori.

Day 7: Do Chimpanzee Trekking In Kibale Park And Afternoon Nature Walks In Bigodi Wetland

After an early breakfast at your lodge, you’ll transfer to Kibale NP- the Primate Capital of Africa for chimpanzee trekking.

Normally, this memorable adventure starts with a briefing at 8 am at Kanyanyu Visitors Center before real trekking starts. The trekking often takes 2-5 hours depending on Chimpanzee movement.

On encountering the chimps– man’s closest genetic relatives, you’ll be limited to one magical hour with them!

You’ll have a fun time with Chimpanzees enjoying them feeding, playing, swinging in trees, grooming, and kissing. It’s such a great time for photo shoots.

Usually, along the trail, travelers encounter other amazing primates in Kibale forest national park such as:

• Black and white Colobus Monkeys
• Olive Baboons
• Red-tailed Monkeys
• Blue Monkeys
• Vervet Monkeys and

After enjoying a relaxed lunch, you’ll visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary- the Home of the Great-blue Turaco for amazing nature walks.

A guided nature walk in Bigodi wetland will allow you to spot most of the 200 bird species and 8 primates here! It’s one of the most scenic and biodiverse wetlands in Uganda.

Birds commonly spotted on nature walks in Bigodi wetland include:

• Great-blue Turaco
• Papyrus Gonolek
• Shinning-blue Kingfisher
• Black-headed Gonolek
• Grey-crowned Cranes
• Pin-Tailed Whydah and,

Day 8: Drive To Semliki NP. Visit The Magical Sempaya Hot Springs As Well As Batwa Of Ntandi. After, Drive To Kasese

After your breakfast, you’ll transfer to Semuliki National Park, driving about 78km, taking about 2-3 hrs.

On arrival, you’ll visit the magical Sempaya hot springs which boil over 100⁰C. These two hot springs include a female and a male hot spring.

The female hot springs feature a hotter boiling geyser that sprouts up over 2m high. For a notable experience while here, you can boil some plantains and eggs for a picnic bite.

In this area, you’ll encounter half-naked people having a natural sauna around. These people believe that these supernatural hot springs have the power to hill and give blessings of wealth!

Also, a hike to Semapaya hot springs is spectacular!

It will expose you to the beautiful flora of Semuliki Forest. Normally, Primates, Olive Baboons, and Black-and-white Colobus are common along this Sempaya nature trail.

After the hot springs adventure, you’ll visit the Batwa (Pygmy) in Ntandi who were the initial foresty dwellers. However, these people were evicted to conserve Semuki National Park in 1993.

You’ll enjoy the vibrant dance of the Pygmy people and also get to know about their fascinating ancient heritage! After, you’ll transfer to Kasese.

On reaching Kasese, you’ll visit the Rwenzori Art Foundation– the only Bronze casting center in Africa. While here, you’ll explore the amazing gallery that features a collection of lovely artworks and also take part in the casting process.

If time allows, you’ll visit the Ruboni Craft Village and meet local women that produce beautiful handicrafts.

Day 9: Spend the Day Hiking the Rwenzori Mountains

After your early breakfast, you’ll move to Nyakalengija park station for a whole-day Rwenzori Mountains hike.

Mountain Rwenzori is the 3^rd tallest mountain in Africa rising over 5,109m above sea level at Margherita peak.

Amazingly, this mountain boasts snow-capped peaks all year round regardless of its being near the Equator. Worldwide, it’s called the Mountains of the Moon due to its snow-capped whiteness.

In 1994, Rwenzori Mountains National Park was declared a UNESCO world heritage site.  And this was due to its great and unique flora counting the impressive giant lobelias and the groundsels.

During the Rwenzori hike, you’ll encounter a range of amazing wildlife in this park. Furthermore, you’ll have spectacular views of the rift valley, Queen Elizabeth NP savannah plains, and Kasese town. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the mountain!

Day 10: Morning Game Drive And Afternoon Boat Cruise In Queen Elizabeth National Park

After a relaxed breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a morning game drive.

During this exciting 3-4 hours game drive in the beautiful plains of Kasenyi and Mweya peninsular, expect to spot 4 of the African safari Big Five animals excluding Rhinos.

Usually, the common animals encountered include:

• Lions
• Leopards
• Buffaloes
• Elephants
• Numerous antelope species such as Waterbucks, Uganda kobs, Bushbucks, and Oribis

You’ll retreat from the game drive and drive to your lodge for relaxation and lunch.

At 2 pm, embark on a 2 hours thrilling boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. This cruise offers you a close encounter with a range of wildlife and among these include:

• Over 100s of Hippos submerged in water
• Countless Crocodiles basking in sun at the channel banks
• Elephants bathing
• Buffalos wallowing in mud and,
• Numerous antelopes such as Uganda Kobs, Bushbucks, Waterbucks, and Oribis among others on channel banks. n

Day 11: Transfer To Bwindi National Park. Do A Game Drive In Ishasha Of Queen Elizabeth NP To Encounter Tree-Climbing Lions

After a lovely breakfast at the lodge, you’ll drive to Bwindi national park.

The drive takes approximately 160km, taking 3-4 hours drive. You drive via the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth NP in search of rare tree climbing Lions.

You’ll encounter these amazing Lions resting up in big Fig tree branches sighting their prey (Uganda kobs) grazing in the plains around.

Normally, Buffalos, Topis, Elephants, plus numerous birds are also encountered in this area.

After the encounter with the tree-climbing Lions, you’ll embark on the drive to Bwindi. You’ll arrive in the evening, and check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Have Mountain Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park And Transfer To Mgahinga Gorilla NP

You’ll have an early breakfast and transfer to Bwindi park headquarters for your gorilla trekking experience! Ideally, you move with your packed lunch as this adventure takes 2-8 hours.

After your gorilla trekking briefing at 8 am, you’ll embark on the trekking trail in the company of park rangers, guides, porters, and trackers.

The hike in the misty and hilly Bwindi forest is physically demanding, however, the expectation of the exciting experience ahead is fabulous!

On encountering these gentle giants of the forest “Mountain Gorillas”, you’re limited to only one full hour with them. You’ll enjoy them feeding, grooming, and playing and have great views of the incredible silverback.

You’re are free to take many photos as you wish and also have your picnic lunch! Please, flashless cameras are recommended.

After, you’ll trek back to park headquarters and get your Gorilla Trekking Certificate and embark on a drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Day 13: Have A Memorable Hike To Any Of The 3 Volcanoes Or Do Golden Monkey Trekking In Mgahinga Park

You’ll have an early breakfast at your lodge and transfer to Mgahinga park headquarters for briefing at 8 am. After, you’ll embark on a hike to the volcano of your choice.

You can choose to climb Sabinyo, Gahinga, or Muhabura volcanoes.

A hike to Sabinyo (3,669m altitude) covers about 14km round trip taking over 8 hours. This volcano is said to offer the best hiking experience as it holds numerous peaks!

Reaching the 3^rd peak offers you a chance of being in 3 (three) countries at once. These include Uganda, Rwanda, and the DRC.

Hiking Gahinga volcano 3,474m high takes approximately 6 hours. This hike offers you a chance of spotting golden Monkeys along the hike, especially in the bamboo zone.

A hike to Muhabura Mountain (4,127m elevation) covers about a 12km round trip taking usually 8 hours.

Hiking to the top offers you amazing distant views of the Rwenzori Mountains and Bwindi forest, normally on clear days. You’ll also have panoramic views of the Virunga Mountain chain among others.

You can undertake golden monkey tracking where you’ll have a chance to encounter the beautiful Golden Monkeys in Mgahinga national park.

Among the national parks in Uganda, Mgahinga is the only park to spot the Golden Monkeys.

It holds about 3000-4000 Golden Monkeys and about 120 are habituated. Usually, they’re spotted on the slopes of Mount Gahinga in the bamboo zone.

The gorgeous golden patch and the playful tactics of these amazing Monkeys make them worth visiting on your Uganda safari.

Day 14: Have Batwa Trail Experience And Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi

After your breakfast, your expert driver guide will transfer you to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for a unique Batwa trail experience.

Initially, the Mgahinga mountain forest was a habitat for the endangered Batwa (Pygmy) people before they were evicted out to park boundaries in 1991 to conserve this park.

Batwa trail was developed to conserve the precious cultural heritage of the Batwa under the company of the Batwa guides. This trail starts from Ntebeko Visitors Center, often in the morning.

It normally runs for over 5-6 hours following a designated trail that goes upto Ngarama cave- the ancient home of the  (Batwa) Pygmy King

It’s led by a Pygmy Guide who will show you a range of amazing items that they used to survive on in the forest during ancient times! Among these will include:

• Medicinal plants
• Wild honey extraction
• Bamboo cup and tree-house making and,
• Forest hunting techniques.

On reaching Ngarama cave, Batwa women will perform amazing traditional songs and dance. This great experience will depict for you the amazing forest life of the Pygmy people before their being evicted from the forest.

After this unique cultural experience, you’ll drive to Lake Bunyonyi– the most beautiful lake in Uganda holding numerous picturesque islands!

You’ll drive via the charming Kisoro-Kabale Road which holds challenging road sections, break off at Muko Forest to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation, have done, and an overnight.

Day 15: Undertake A Canoe (Boat Ride) On Lake Bunyonyi, Visit Islands, As Well As Communities And Schools

This lake is also considered the 2^nd deepest lake in Africa with about 40- 900m deep.

It’s surrounded by the beautiful terraced hills of the Kigezi region that offer breathtaking views while cruising on the tranquil waters of Lake Bunyonyi.

While on the cruise, you’ll have several docks thus, allowing you to walk on various islands!

Day 16: Transfer  To Lake Mburo National Park For Night Game Drive

After your lovely breakfast, you’ll undertake a half-day of island hopping and exploration.

You’ll visit the main islands of Bunyonyi including:

Bucurunuka (Upside down): A legend has it that, this island buried people alive! This was after the men refused to give some local brew to an old woman and she cursed it upside down, burying these men.

Akampene (Punishment) Island: This is a legendary island where parents could dump their unmarried pregnant girls to die of hunger or drown while trying to escape.

Other beautiful islands in Lake Bunyonyi include Bushara, Kahugye, and Njuyera Islands.

After this amazing experience, you’ll settle for lunch at your lodge and after transfer to Mburo park, driving about 5-6 hours drive (199km)

Day 1: Transfer From Entebbe Or Kampala To Murchison Falls National Park. En-Route Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After your early morning breakfast at 6:30 am, you’ll be picked up by our professional driver guide and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. This scenic drive takes about 5-6 hours covering 311km.

You’ll have an en-route stop in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary- for Rhino tracking on foot experience. This great thrilling encounter will offer you an opportunity of having a close encounter with the only 32- remaining wild Rhinos in Uganda on foot in their natural habitat!

After this unique experience, you’ll go for lunch at Kabalega Dinner nearby and after, continue the drive to Murchison Falls NP- Uganda’s biggest park bisected by the legendary Bile Rive.

Day 2: Do A Morning Game Drive In Murchison Park & An Afternoon Nile Boat Cruise To The Bottom Of The Falls

After having your early breakfast around 6:30 am, you’ll meet your driver guide and transfer to the rolling plains of the Buligi game area. In this area, travelers can spot over 80% of animals in Murchison Falls NP.

On this picturesque 160km long game drive, you’ll have an opportunity of encountering amazing big game animals such as:

• Buffaloes
• Lions
• Elephants
• Leopards
• Hippos
• Giraffes and
• Several antelope species such as Uganda kobs, Bush-bucks, Jackson’s Hartebeests Water-bucks, etc.

Furthermore, while on the 3-4 hours game drive you can encounter amazing birds such as the Secretary bird, and the Abyssinian Ground Horn-bill.

You’ll drive back to your lodge, have lunch and relax a bit as you get ready for your next Nile boat cruise at 2 pm.

In the afternoon, your driver guide will transfer you to a Nile boat cruise to the bottom of the giant Murchison Falls– the world’s strongest waterfall emitting 300cm3/s of water.

During the cruise, you’ll spot Hippos amazingly submerged in water and Nile Crocodiles basking in the sun as well Elephants, Buffaloes, and numerous antelopes are common residents along river banks.

Among birds commonly spotted include Red-throated Bee-eaters along Nyamusika cliff, African fish Eagles, and colorful Kingfishers.

The climax of this cruise is a dock on a small bay that is just a few meters from the massive falls. From here, you’ll have breathtaking views of the great Murchison Falls.

This thrilling Nile delta boat cruise will give you a chance of exploring the Nile Lake Albert delta area- the best area to spot the rare Shoe-bill in Africa. Also, during this 20km picturesque cruise in the Nile delta area, you’ll encounter thousands of water birds counting:

Day 4: Drive To The Top Of Murchison Falls And Transfer To Kibale National Park

You’ll have a relaxed breakfast around 8:30 am and drive to the top of the falls to explore Murchison falls from another pleasing perspective.

From here, you’ll witness the dramatic scenery as the Legendary Nile River (50m wide) fights to pass through an 8m narrow gorge before falling 45m along a cliff to form a Devil’s Cauldron.

From here, you’ll undertake a 6-7 hours drive to Kibale National Park– the Primate Capital of the World! This drive takes you through the beautiful countryside getting amazing views of the great Albertine Rift Valley.

You’ll reach Fort Portal- the cleanest city in Uganda during lunchtime, get lunch, and after, continue with your drive to Kibale park- the best area for chimpanzee trekking in Uganda.

You ‘have an early breakfast at 6:30 am from your lodge and then transfer for a chimpanzee trekking briefing at 8 am at Kibale park headquarters.

During the briefing, an expert park ranger guide will share with you the dos and don’ts while undertaking chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park.

After, you’ll embark on a 2-5 hours hike in the rain-forest in search of the amazing man’s closest genetic relatives- sharing over 98-99% DNA of man.

On encountering them, you’ll spend one magical hour watching them:

• Swinging in trees,
• Breastfeeding if any
• Grooming each other
• Kissing and,
• Roaming the ground, etc.

From your lodge, you’ll have a leisurely breakfast and after, undertake a 2-3 hours drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park- Uganda’s most diverse national park. This park holds over 600 bird species and over 95 animal species counting 4 of the African safari Big five animals except for Rhinos.

During the drive, you’ll have great views of crater lakes plus rolling stunning hills. You’ll have a stop in Kasese town which is on the foothills of Rwenzori Mountains (5109m high) to explore the great Ruboni Community.

While in this area, you’ll discover the rich and unique cultural customs and traditions of the Bakonzo people who have settled on the Rwenzori foothills for centuries.

This cultural encounter will allow you to get to know about the unique lifestyles of Bakonzo, and the crops they grow, as well as get entertained by their dramatic music, dance, and drama.

You’ll have an early breakfast at around 6:30 am and transfer to the beautiful rolling plains of the Kasenyi sector so that you begin your day with early grazers. Lucky travelers can spot predators such as Hyenas or Lions hunting.

On this 3-4 hours game drive, you should look out for:

• Cape Buffaloes,
• Elephants,
• Leopards,
• Spotted Hyenas,
• Warthogs
• Hippos and,
• Numerous antelope species such as Bush-bucks, Uganda kobs, Water-bucks, and Oribis.

After this lovely cruise, you’ll drive back to your lodge for some rest, and have lunch as you set yourself up for the Kazinga channel boat cruise at 2 pm.

Kazinga channel is an attractive 32km long natural channel connecting Lake George to Lake Edward. This area holds the highest concentration of Hippos in the world.

During a thrilling boat cruise on Kazinga channel, you’ll have a remarkable close encounter with wildlife counting over 100s of Hippos submerged in water and countless Crocodiles basking on shores.

Elephants and Buffaloes are commonly encountered amazingly bathing along the channel banks. Also, various antelope species and many birds such as Pelicans, Saddle-billed Storks, and Kingfishers are barely missed.

You’ll take a relaxed breakfast at 8 am from your lodge and after transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – the best site for gorilla trekking in Uganda.

This 160km (4-7 hours drive) takes you via the Ishasha sector to spot tree climbing Lions. You’ll encounter them amazingly resting up in big fig tree branches.

It’s assumed that Lions in Ishasha climb trees to escape the biting insects and much heat on the ground.

After this great experience, you’ll continue the drive to Bwindi- a UNESCO world heritage holding over 459 Mountain gorillas, 350 bird species including over 19 Albertine endemic bird species, and over 120 mammal species.

Upon arrival in the early evening, you’ll check in at your lodge, have some rest, dinner, as well as overnight.

Day 9: Do Mountain Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi Park And Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi To Relax

You’ll have an early breakfast at around 6:30 am and after transfer to Bwindi park head quartets for gorilla trekking briefing at 8 am.

After the briefing, you’ll embark on a trail into the misty Bwindi forest to encounter the gentle giants. Mountain Gorillas are believed to share about 98% of man’s DNA therefore, they’re also man’s close genetic relatives just like Chimpanzees.

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi takes about 2-8 hours depending on the movement of these shy giants. On the hiking trail, you’re more likely to spot the great biodiversity of Bwindi such as the beautiful primates, butterflies, and forest birds of Uganda.

On encountering the shy giants, you’ll enjoy them feeding, grooming, and breastfeeding and also stare at the great sheer size of the Silver-back gorilla.

You’re free to take as many photos as possible however, you should use a flash-less camera.

After the encounter, you’ll move back to the briefing point and get a gorilla trekking certificate as well as enjoy your parked lunch. Next, you’ll transfer to and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi- Uganda’s most magnificent lake dotted with over charming 29 islands.

You’ll wake up and have a leisurely breakfast at 9 am and after, undertake a canoe ride to explore some of the amazing historical islands of Lake Bunyonyi counting:

The horrible Akampene (Punishment) Island: This Island is famously known for its horrible history! It’s a place where unmarried pregnant girls could be brought by their parents to die of hunger or drown while trying to escape.

However, lucky ones could survive after being stolen by men who couldn’t be able to be dowry.

Such a dreadful act was done to create fear in others from doing such a shameful action to the family! This ancient act got abandoned after the coming of Christianity.

Alternatively, you can choose to have a picturesque hike to one of the scenic hills around or enjoy zip-lining across the serene waters of Lake Bunyonyi.  Visitors can also choose to swim or have a community walk.

You’ll wake up and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at around 9 am and after, embark on a (4-hour) drive to Lake Mburo National Park.

You’ll drive along one of the scenic roads in Uganda. It will pass you through a picturesque landscape of stunning Savannah landscapes, banana plantations, beautiful villages, and herds of amazing long-horned Ankole cattle.

During the drive, you’ll make a stop at Igongo Cultural Center and Museum for a delicious traditional lunch. Upon finishing lunch, you’ll continue the drive to check in at your lodge in Lake Mburo NP for a rest.

After some relaxation, you’ll take a 2 hours game drive in the late afternoon. During this drive, expect to spot

During this memorable hike, you’ll spot amazing animals in Mburo National Park such as the beautiful Elands, Topis, Impalas, Zebras, Buffaloes, Water-bucks, Bush-bucks, and numerous acacia birds.

Please note that elephants and Lions have not been spotted in Mburo park in the past few decades.

You’ll retreat from this memorable Uganda safari adventure and embark on a 7-8 hours drive to Jinja. Jinja is dubbed the “Adventure Capital of Africa” and holds the source of the fabled Nile River.

You’ll wake up and have an early breakfast after to transfer to Bwindi park headquarters for the gorilla trekking briefing at 8 am.

You’ll explore the dreadful Akampene (Punishment Island): This is where unmarried pregnant girls could be brought by their parents to die of hunger or drown while trying to escape from the island. This action was done to stop others from shaming the family.

Lucky girls could survive after being stolen by guys who couldn’t pay dowry. However, the majority could die.

Alternatively, you can trek one of the beautiful hills surrounding Lake Bunyonyi or swim in the lake. You can also enjoy zip-lining across the serene waters of Lake Bunyonyi, undertake a community walk, or visit a local school.

The briefing is conducted by a knowledgeable park ranger who will guide you on the dos and don’ts of this memorable experience. Following the briefing, you’ll head into the jungle in search of chimps on foot!

In size, Chimpanzees are smaller than their cousins (Mountain gorillas). However, they’re more charming, and intelligent living in communities of about 20-150 individuals.

The chimpanzee trek in Kibale usually takes about 2-5 hours depending on the location of the chimps. Visitors have over 95% chance of spotting Chimpanzees in Kibale Park– This is far better than any other place in Uganda or Rwanda.

When Nyinamwiru’s father King Bukuku grew tired of receiving marriage bids from unsuitable admirers, he decided to cut off his daughter’s breasts to lessen her appeal.

But, even this cruel action couldn’t discourage many suitors of Nyinamwiru.

Therefore, the king decided to hide her in the cave that is now known as Amabere.

While in this cave, she was discovered by Batembuzi King Isaza and he impregnated her with a son. Since Nyinamwiru had no breasts, she remained inside the cave and could feed her baby on the Limes stone (milk) that dripped from the stalactites.

Eventually, this child raised in these caves grew up and became King Ndahura, the founder of the Bachwezi Dynasty. This was such a strong dynasty that ruled over the Bunyoro Kitara Empire centuries ago.

Day 4: Spend The Whole Day Fishing Along The Nile In Chobe Sector From Chobe Safari Lodge

On having a relaxed breakfast around 8 am, you’ll transfer to fishing activity on the mythical Nile River. Still here, you’ll be led by expert guides to the best fishing spots along the historic River Nile.

Please note that the Nile is not a mere stream! However, it’s the world’s longest river holding several fish species that it generates from the massive Victoria Lake.

Fishing in the Chobe sector has a long history. In the past, it was a popular fishing location in the East African region. Rebuilding Chobe Safari Lodge entails bringing back long-forgotten memories and re-establishing the location’s prominence in terms of its fishing potential.

This area is ideal for catching different fish species such as:
