Day 1: Drive From Kampala Or Entebbe Town To Gulu. En Route, Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Around 6:30 am, from your lodge in Kampala or Entebbe, you’ll be picked up by our driver guide and embark on a drive to Gulu in northern Uganda.
This scenic drive is about 7-8 hours drive. You’ll drive through various breathtaking scenery, busy roadside markets, and peaceful rural villages.
You’ll have an amazing stopover for Rhino tracking on foot in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary– the home of the only 32 Uganda’s remaining wild Rhinos in the wild.
Rhino trekking will offer you a memorable experience of a close encounter with one of the Big Five game animals of Africa on foot! During this 2 hours adventure, you’ll spot numerous birds and other wild animals such as:

You’ll have an early breakfast at around 7 am, and after embark on a 3-4 hours drive to Kidepo national park. You’ll arrive during lunch hours, check in your lodge, have lunch and some bit of relaxation.

Day 4: Travel To Murchison Falls National Park. Undertake A Night Game Drive

The drive takes about 7-8 hours through the impressive landscapes of northern Uganda.
You’ll have an en-route stop in Kitgum for an early morning lunch. After, continue with the drive to Murchison park reaching in the late afternoon at your lodge, freshen up, and relax.

After an early breakfast at around 6 am, you’ll meet your driver guide and drive to the beautiful plains of the Buligi game area. This is the best area for game drives in Murchison Falls park. You’ll spot most of the 144 mammal species in the park!
On a lucky day, you can spot predators hunting for example Lions hunting a Buffalo! During the game drive, you should look out for:

- Lions
- Leopards
- Buffaloes
- Elephants
- Warthogs
- Spotted hyenas
- Several antelope species such as Oribis, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Water-bucks, and Bush-buck, etc.

Day 6: Enjoy The Nile- Lake Albert Delta Boat Cruise With Breakfast On Board & An Evening Game Drive
After having an early breakfast, at around 7 am you’ll be transferred to undertake a Nile- Lake Albert delta boat cruise. The cruise normally takes about 4-5 hours while exploring the scenic delta area.
This area is famous for its being the best place to spot the rare Shoe-bills in Africa.
During this charming 20km boat cruise to the scenic point where the Nile empties into Lake Albert, you’ll encounter thousands of water birds in Uganda, and among these include:
- Shoe-bills
- African Fish eagles
- Papyrus gonolek
- Grey-crowned cranes

Day 7: Visit The Top Of Murchison Falls & Drive To Kibale Forest National Park
You’ll get a relaxed breakfast at your lodge and around 8:30 am you’ll check out and drive to the top of Murchison Falls- the strongest waterfall in the world.
This drive is intended to view Murchison Falls from another amazing perspective.
After having great views of the world’s strongest waterfall, you’ll embark on a 6-7 hours drive to Kibale NP- the best area for chimpanzee trekking in Uganda.
During the drive, you’ll enjoy the scenic views of the great Albert Rift Valley and the lush green countryside along the route.
Eventually, you’ll reach the beautiful town of Fort Portal (in the afternoon) and have lunch. After enjoying lunch, you’ll continue driving to Kibale forest- the home of 13 primate species counting about 1500 Chimpanzees.

You’ll wake up early around 6:30 am and have your breakfast after, drive to Kibale National Park headquarters for chimp trekking with your packed lunch.
Visitors undertaking chimp trekking in Kibale are first briefed at 8 am about the dos and don’ts while with chimpanzees and then real trekking begins.
Normally, Kibale chimpanzee trekking takes about 2-5 hours depending on the movement of the chimps. On encountering these amazing close relatives of man, you’ll enjoy them:

- Patrolling the area

You’re limited to one magical hour with chimps however, taking as many photos as possible is open. Flashless cameras must be used!

This drive takes about 2-3 hours and offers stunning views of the snow-capped peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains. Arrive at your lodging and relax and have lunch.
After lunch, you’ll undertake a game drive to explore Queen Elizabeth Park’s breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife. Queen Elizabeth park ranks among the most bio-diverse national park in Uganda holding over 95 mammal species and 600 bird species.

You’ll enjoy an early breakfast at around 6 am. After, your guide will transfer you to a 3-4 hours game drive in the scenic plains of the Kasenyi area where you’ll spot a variety of birds and wild animals.
On a lucky day, you can spot predators like Hyenas or Lions hunting!
During the drive, you should look out for:

Day 11: Transfer To Bwindi National Park. Enjoy An En- Route Game Drive In Ishasha Sector To Look For Tree-Climbing Lions
You’ll have a relaxed breakfast around 8 am and after transfer to Bwindi National Park. This drive is about 160km taking about 4-7 hours.
The drive passes you via the Ishasha sector (south of Queen park) to spot the mysterious tree-climbing lions. You’ll spot them amazingly resting up in Fig tree branches.
After enjoying tree-climbing lions, you’ll continue the drive to Bwindi through the rolling picturesque hills of southwestern Uganda.
Despite the quite frightening name, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a paradise in Uganda.

Day 12: Have Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi & Drive To Lake Bunyonyi For Relaxation
After an early breakfast at 6:30 am, you’ll transfer to Bwindi forest park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing at 8 am and get allocated the gorilla family to track.
After the briefing, real gorilla trekking will start! This once-in-a-lifetime adventure takes about 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gentle giants of the forest.
Along the trail in the misty and hilly Bwindi forest, you’ll encounter a range of wildlife such as beautiful birds and amazing primate species such as Red-tailed Monkeys.
On the encounter with these shy gentle giants, you’ll enjoy them grooming, feeding, communicating, and also marvel at the great sheer size of the Silver back gorilla. You’re free to have as many photos as possible.

Day 13: Canoe (Boat) Ride, Island Hopping & Relaxation At Lake Bunyonyi
At around 7 am, you’ll enjoy a leisurely breakfast while marveling at the serene waters and stunning islands of Lake Bunyonyi– the most beautiful lake in Uganda.
Lake Bunyonyi is Africa’s 2nd deepest lake holding over 900m deep. It features about 29 spectacular islands surrounded by the amazing terraced hills of Kigezi.
After breakfast, you’ll undertake a canoe ride and go island hooping! You get a chance to adventure some of Lake Bunyonyi’s historical islands and the traditions attached to them. Among these include:
Akampene Island (Punishment Island). This is where unmarried pregnant girls were brought to die during the ancient days. These could starve to die or drown in this lake while attempting to escape from this island. It was done to scare other young girls at home from bringing shame home also.
This practice got abandoned after the coming of missionaries in the early 90s.
You’ll retreat from this amazing adventure and move back to your lodge and spend the day resting.

You’ll have a relaxed breakfast at around 9:30 and after embark on a drive to Lake Mburo National Park.
This drive will take you through the scenic countryside of Uganda, banana plantations, and villages, and eventually you reach Mbarara town- the biggest city in western Uganda.
En route, you’ll visit Igongo Cultural Center for a traditional meal. After a delicious traditional lunch, continue the drive to the park. Along the drive to the park, you’ll encounter large herds of long-horned Ankole cattle.
Lake Mburo National Park is ideal for thrilling game drives, nature walks, boat cruises, horseback riding, and cycling tours. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your lodge before exploring the park on a game drive.
