Lake Nyamirima Cottages

Lake Nyamirima Cottages ranks among the ideal newest (Eco-friendly) budget lodges in Kibale National park.

It’s set about 18km on Fort Potal-Kamwengye Road, and approximately 3km to Kibale National Park– the best area for spotting Chimpanzees in Uganda.

These cottages were named after Lake Nyamirima Crater, where it lies! Nyamirima is a local dialect meaning the “Mother of Darkness” due to her dark water view when seen from the top of the cliff.

This amazing darkness is due to the thick forest cover around proving shelter to various Monkeys and Birds.

It features 5 grass-thatched houses situated on the hilltops overlooking Lake Nyamirima. All cottages are set offering spectacular views of the lake and the scenic countryside around.
